BUMD CSR Programs Must Align with RPJMD

The Special Committee on Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) of the Jakarta City Council emphasized the importance of implementing BUMD CSR programs that are measurable, planned, and aligned with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD).

must be truly aimed at the welfare of society

Committee Head, Ghozi Zulazmi said his party is currently evaluating the implementation of CSR in a number of BUMDs.

"We want to see how CSR and TJSL are implemented in each BUMD," he said, Saturday (5/2).

He emphasized that TJSL program cannot be merely sporadic. It must be carefully designed, have clear indicators, and have measurable impact. Therefore, the Special Committee involved the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) to ensure that TJSL implementation aligns with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD).

Ghozi added that many community aspirations remain unaccounted for in the regional budget, such as waste issues and the need for affordable housing. He believes the TJSL program could be an alternative solution, as long as it's supported by clear regulations.

He also encouraged the TJSL program to not only focus on social and religious activities, but also target the environmental, infrastructure, and economic sectors so that the benefits would be broader and felt directly by the community.

"The top priority should be the people of Jakarta. We discovered that some CSR programs are actually targeting areas outside of Jakarta. This is an important note," he continued.

He also reminded that TJSL funds should not be used for internal company interests, such as assistance for employees, because this is a company obligation outside the CSR program.

"The TJSL program must be truly aimed at the welfare of society and the environment, not for internal interests or to support company production," he emphasized.
